《和巴什尔跳华尔兹》曾经荣获奥斯卡最佳外语片，也是为数不多的动画纪录片。导演阿里·福尔曼根据本人经历的故事，以普通以军士兵的视角反思了黎巴嫩难民营的大屠杀。导演福尔曼对参加过黎巴嫩战争的当事人进行采访拍摄，并将录像转成动画。而通过动画这种形式，刻画出普通以军士兵那场迷幻的梦境和不愿触及的记忆。
