The Republic of China’s diplomatic relations are once again under threat. Minister of Foreign Affairs David Lee said that relations with Caribbean diplomatic ally St. Lucia may be unstable, although not to the point of being broken off. However, the R.O.C. ambassador to St. Lucia was quickly changed, with the post being taken by R.O.C. Sydney representative office Director Shen Cheng-tsong, who immediately called on high level St. Lucia officials. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said any feeling of vacillation was largely due to China’s lighting sparks here and there and emphasized that in fact there were no special problems in the relationship between the R.O.C. and St. Lucia.

我國外交再度傳出危機，外交部長李大維指出，加勒比海的邦交國聖露西亞亮起黃燈，但還沒到達紅燈的斷交危機。不過,外交部也緊急更換駐聖露西亞大使，由駐雪梨辦事處長沈正宗接任，積極拜會聖國政府的高層。外交部次長侯清山表示，浮動是因為中國到處放火，也強調台聖邦交目前沒有特別問題。
