To further strengthen the friendship between Cyprus and China, allow more Cypriots and local foreign friends to learn about the Chinese culture as well as provide opportunities for the Chinese in Cyprus to feel the culture of their motherland; at the mean time to add more vitality to the construction of the＂Maritime Silk Road＂of＂One Belt One Road＂initiative, now China-Cyprus Economic and Cultural Exchange Association, the Confucius Institute of the University of Cyprus, and the Limassol Municipality have decided to jointly organize “Cyprus Chinese Cultural Festival” every year starting from 2017; the event is also greatly guided and supported by the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus.

为了给“一带一路”的“海上丝绸之路”的建设注入更多活力，进一步加强中塞两国人民间的友好往来，让更多的塞浦路斯和当地外国友人了解我们优秀的中国文化，并同时让当地的华人华侨有机会感受到祖国的传统文化，在中国驻塞浦路斯大使馆的大力支持和帮助下，由中塞经济文化交流协会，塞浦路斯大学及孔子学院携手塞浦路斯立马索市政府，决定于2017年开始，每年举办“塞浦路斯中国文化节”。
