It’s notoriously difficult to get an extraordinary ability visa for a stock trader, but it’s not impossible! One difficulty is proving that you’ll be able to benefit the US; the US is known for its stock traders, many of the best MBA programs are here, and many of the licenses related to stock trading are commissioned here too.

Our solution was to narrow in on what made our client extraordinary: he’s both a stock trader and a software engineer; he created an algorithm that effectively models complex trends in stock prices; and, he specializes in futures trading for oil & gas which is an area that the US is relatively weak in. So, we argued that he would benefit the US by stabilizing oil and gas prices using his modeling algorithm.

Then, Russia invaded Ukraine, completely destabilizing oil and gas prices and exacerbating the volatility that our client could solve. In light of these recent events, the client’s case was approved immediately, with no request for evidence.
