In fact, a NATO diplomat has confirmed that the United States is considering moving troops stationed in Western Europe to Eastern Europe in the coming weeks.
However, Russia has been sending landing ships to the Baltic Sea for the past two weeks, which has raised concerns about the Swedish army. Among these Russian ships is one of the Ivan Gren class, Project 11711, the newest and most heavily armed ship of this type in the Russian navy. Ivan Gren joined the Russian Navy in 2018, has a length of 135 meters and can take on board a battalion equipped with 13 tanks, 40 transporters and four attack helicopters.
Under these conditions, Sweden deployed troops near the island of Gotland, which is about 300 kilometers from the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
