TOP 10 RICHEST AND LARGEST BANKS IN AFRICA BY ASSETS

10 Richest and largest banks in Africa by assets – The wealthiest banks in Africa are key financiers of public works projects in their respective countries. African banks are beginning to compete more effectively in terms of capitalization with their counterparts in the international world. Though they cannot be compared to some of the more well-financed banks in America and the United Kingdom, they can be considered on an equal footing with many others in terms of financial strength and stability.

The African continent is home to almost 17 percent of the world’s total population, with an estimated population of around 1.3 billion people. The region’s banking sector contains several unique players who cater to the region’s enormous population. The global pandemic devouring the continent’s economies contributed to a harsh year in 2021, which resulted in a drop in revenues across various African banks.
