塞班岛（Saipan）是美属北马里亚纳群岛联邦最大岛屿和首府所在地，[1][2]面积185平方公里，人口约52200人（2010年）。
最高点塔波乔山（Tagpochau）海拔466米。现主要出产椰干，亦产芋、木薯、薯蓣、面包果及香蕉，设商船坞和国际机场。
1944年被美国军队占领，成为美国军队重要的空军基地。1962年成为太平洋岛屿美国托管地的首府。2009年11月28日，美国联邦政府接管北马里亚纳群岛联邦的移民事务。
2020年1月29日，北马里亚纳群岛联邦（塞班岛）总督发布行政令，鉴于当前的新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情，宣布自即日起30日内，暂停所有来自中国大陆地区的旅客入境。[3]

Saipan (Saipan) is the largest island and capital of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands of the United States,[1][2] with an area of 185 square kilometers and a population of about 52,200 people (2010).
The highest point, Tagpochau, is 466 meters above sea level. Now it mainly produces copra, but also taro, cassava, yam, breadfruit and bananas. It has a merchant dock and an international airport.
It was occupied by the US military in 1944 and became an important air base for the US military. In 1962 it became the capital of the Pacific Islands U.S. Mandate. On November 28, 2009, the federal government of the United States took over the immigration affairs of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
On January 29, 2020, the Governor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan) issued an executive order. In view of the current novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, it was announced that the entry of all passengers from mainland China will be suspended for 30 days from now. [3]
