Abhiman Kaushal is an outstanding tabla artist who is much sought after for his sensitive accompaniment and intense solo playing. He represents the Farukkabad and Lucknow styles of tabla. Having been initiated into the art by his father R. B. Kaushal, who was a disciple of the legendary Ustad Amir Hussain Khan, Abhiman later continued his training under the famous Ustad Sheikh Dawood of Hyderabad, India, and the Ustad’s senior most disciple, Pandit B. Nandkumar. Abhiman has accompanied most of the leading musicians, singers and dancers of North Indian classical music. He has toured around the world performing in prestigious venues. He has numerous recordings and world music collaborations. He has recorded a soundtrack for National Geographc’s Man Eaters of North India, for Zoolander movie and has performed for MTV’s Aerosmith icon show . Recently he was the solo featured musician for the acclaimed electronic dance drama Ramayana 2k3 which won rave reviews in USA.

Abhiman Kaushal 是位傑出的塔布拉鼓藝術家，以敏銳的伴奏及強烈的獨奏為人稱道。他自幼由師承正統的父親教導，後又追隨名師Ustad Sheikh Dawood 學習。
Abhiman也曾於許多世界知名的演奏廳演出，例如卡內基廳、巴比坎中心、林肯中心，以及臺灣國家音樂廳等。他不僅與印度藝術家合奏，也曾與其他國籍的國際級演出者合作演出，例如長笛家朗帕爾等、著名拉丁鼓手Tito Puente、墨西哥交響樂團、爵士吉他手Kenny Burrell、瑞典饒舌歌手Papas Kappsack，亦曾與阿姆斯特丹新音樂室內樂團Nieuw Ensemble製作多媒體表演。錄音專案也包括國家地理頻道，以及無數的好萊塢電影。2011-2014他連續被提名葛萊美獎，並於2017年以其參與錄音的專輯「白日II」獲得葛萊美新世紀類獎項。
在學術方面，Abhiman自1998年起擔任加州大學洛杉磯分校(UCLA)印度音樂副教授，並任教於河濱分校(Riverside)。他作育數以百計的塔布拉鼓學生，並於美國、加拿大、墨西哥、中國大陸及台灣作過無數場示範講座。他早期的一些學生也已成為國際巡演的塔布拉鼓手。以其音樂及教育上的成就，無怪Abhiman在印度古典音樂界享有文化大使的聲譽。
